Dr. Phil Maniscalco, Psy.D.

We live at a particularly stressful time. Anxiety may result from marriage, divorce, school, work or any other sphere of interaction. Seeing a professional therapist at these times, even if for a few visits, can make a significant difference in lessening emotional pain and suffering. To that end, let me tell you briefly about my work.

My private practice is divided between child-adolescent and adult psychotherapy. My experience includes over twenty years in clinical and educational settings. I have been in private practice in Rockland, Manhattan and Westchester; in Tarrytown for over ten years.

I am on the faculty of the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy where I teach and supervise candidates in the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program and teach in the Adult Psychotherapy Program. I am also Adjunct Faculty at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. It is there that I received my Doctor of Psychology degree in 1991.

My work with children and adolescents is informed by many years of experience as a school psychologist that has included educational and psychological assessments as well as psychotherapy (play therapy when age appropriate).

My work with adults reflects a psychodynamic orientation. Typical difficulties in living that I encounter in my practice include: depression, anxiety, addictions, relationships, and work/identity issues. Having trained as a divorce mediator, I have made couple therapy one of my specialties.

A native of Italy, I am fluent both in the Italian language and culture.

Feel free to contact me with questions or if considering a referral.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Philip L. Maniscalco, Psy.D.
